Time To Reflect
May 27th, 2010 by Mat DolphinA couple of weeks back retailer Waterstone’s unveiled their new brand identity on their website and throughout all their stores. The bookseller has changed its logo and created a new strap line – “Feel every word”, which both feature on waterstones.com.
Many people, agencies and sites were quick to jump in and critique the work, which is always to be expected in ‘new’ brand development. Having had a few weeks to absorb the move though I revisited the work with an open mind to have another look.

Her intricate, sculptural creations have gained the attention of clients such as Hermès, Cadbury, Orange, The Guardian and The New York Times amongst others. Instantly recognisable, her work brings together a combination of the things she loves; typography, paper, and highly detailed hand-made craft objects.
Cropping Up

As someone who’s on a never ending hunt for new and interesting typography, I’ve stumbled across some interesting methods for constructing letterforms. One medium that seems to keep cropping up is hair.
With that in mind, I thought I’d share some of the latest hirsute uses of type I’ve seen of late.
